Currently, Google search engine doesn’t use any criteria to distinguish between the Mobile and the desktop-based websites. You will not find any difference between the desktop-friendly and mobile-optimized websites. But these things are going to change in a couple of months to come.
A Few days back, Google assured its users that it will be introducing a system that would allow search engines to create a separate mobile Index first. As per Gary Illyes, Trend Analysts at Google, Mobile Index will become the first priority and desktop-based website would no longer be given the same status as given today.
This has simply not happened over a nights’ thought, Google was thinking to introduce this from quite a long time after seeing the vast popularity of mobile searches over Google search engine. As per the latest search reports 50% of all the web searches are done on mobile devices so the Google has started taking an initiative to promote mobile-based websites first.
Do you really think that there is any need for a separate mobile index? The answer is very simple. It will make searching the things easier. Now the Google search engine won’t have to search the data in the desktop content in order to give mobile rankings. It will start using new tricks and algorithms in order to identify the content that is 100% mobile.
By mobile-friendly content we mean content that is informative, have uploading and downloading speed and is responsive enough to drive website traffic automatically.
There are mobile users who tend to access web content on their mobiles but get frustrated due to loading or unresponsiveness problems of the web pages, Google’s newest “mobile-first” is a kind of blessing for such people.
Astonishingly, this is not the only step that Google took recently to improve user’s’ mobile experience but it also introduced Accelerated Mobile Pages, AMP service. As the name suggests, accelerated speed of the mobile pages or we can say that improved loading speed of the mobile pages.
Why does Google choose to take this step?
We are living with a very hectic time schedule these days and it is high time to spare every single minute out of your busy timetable. Most of the people have an easy access to the Internet and almost 50% of their day to day tasks are done using one or the other online services like buying kitchen essentials online, clothes and apparel online shopping, household shopping, and much more. This saves a lot of time and energy.
Google understood the necessity of mobile-friendly websites and started engaging techniques that could index Mobile-first.
When exactly would Goggle change to “Mobile-first”?
As per the Trend Analysts of Google, Illyes, the exact dates of commencement of this plan has not yet been fixed but Google has confirmed that it will soon announce the release date of this plan by posting a blog post first detailing exact dates of the day, Google makes such changes.
Users have set high expectations of many other blog posts that would detail Google’s plans to boost the web ranking of these mobile-friendly sites.
